Maybe i am overly worried because of where i live and given my contacts with younger college educated folks. None of these types voted for bush but i am finding other who did take a shot with W who in some cases revile him. From your interpetation i gather that the latter is up for grabs or will just sit it out. I am not so sure. Once again i will propose a switch at VP to attract moderate secular voters. Rudy could add a point or two--same with mccain and perhaps even powell.
I am more worried about another electoral college foul up. You must agree the electoral college has outlived its usefulness. I was a big defender even thru 2000 but the way a three way bush/kerry/nader race may turn out, i wonder how bush could govern if he gets 45% and wins while kerry/nader gets 55 and beat him overall in pop vote. Last time was far less clear. This time, it would be quite bad for our democracy. mike
