over a period of 8 years, options outstanding increases 174M (= 850M - 676M) and common stock outstanding decreases only 81M (= 6568M - 6487M), there just *is no evidence* to support your theory.

You're still making the wrong comparison. Over the last 8 years that you cite, options have been exercised that were granted anywhere between 18 and 5 years ago. Yet you're matching them up with shares repurchased during those same 8 years! You're missing 10 years of share buyback data in the past (and all the ensuing splits) and including the near 5 years that shouldn't be aligned with exercises because those grants haven't vested yet. You're doing a good job of showing just how confusing this whole thing is and why there's no easy answer.
