Several Officers and Enlisted troops are being charged with a variety of crimes for the death of an Iraqi General.

Wolfowitz has been put in charge of running the "cover-up", but he is as inept at this task as he was at forecasting events in the Iraq War.

In recent hearings of the House Armed Services Committee, Snyder has repeatedly asked top military officials to explain their handling of Mowhoush's death, including their press statement.

"The problem is it does not seem to me that you all are interested in getting things out on the table," Snyder told Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz during a hearing Tuesday, citing questions raised in The Post's reports.

This news has been developing all day and has been updated by reuters. There were earlier posts about this, but the full extent of the attacks is still unfolding. Now up to 100 people have died:

reuters.com

"BAGHDAD (Reuters) - About 100 people were killed and several hundred wounded in Iraq on Thursday when insurgents launched bloody assaults in five cities to disrupt next week's formal handover to Iraqi rule."

The saddest thing about this is the continouous loss of innocent life. War supporters argue that people died under Saddam Hussein. That may be true in itself. But the truth is, we do not really know how many or how. He was a tyrant and he was an unpleasant human being who killed people or had people killed, that much is true. But what we DO know is, that the power vacuum following his overthrow led by an incapable and incompetent administration has directly led to the deaths of anywhere between 12,000 and 55,000 Iraqis:

G.W. Bush should have listened to his father:

"I firmly believed that we should not march into Baghdad. ... To occupy Iraq would instantly shatter our coalition, turning the whole Arab world against us and make a broken tyrant into a latter day Arab hero... assigning young soldiers to a fruitless hunt for a securely entrenched dictator and condemning them to fight in what would be an unwinnable urban guerrilla war."
-- Former president George Herbert Walker Bush in 'A World Transformed'

The AP announced today an exclusive interview with Bin Laden!
Following is the complete text of the interview:

AP. Bin Laden, exactly what is happening in Iraq right now?
BL. I Can not say for sure because we are not there. It does seems beautiful though. Over 800 US insurgents have been killed and more to come. Hussein has been toppled, praise Allah, and will soon be replaced by an Islamic fundamentalist leader. Two birds killed with one stone and we did not even throw it.

AP. What do you mean by that?
BL. Two stones?

AP. Yes.
BL. Laughing. Well you see we wanted Hussein removed but the US did it for us. Over 800 US soldiers killed and Hussein ousted and we had nothing to do with it. Praise Allah.

AP. Are you going to attack the US before the election.
BL. Heavens no. It might cause Kerry to get elected. We wouldn't want that.

AP. You wouldn't.
BL. No of course not. Look, Bush is spending the US into economic ruin. He is doing our work for us. Bush removed Hussein for us, and while Bush was sidetracked in Iraq, Iran and North Korea have been suppling us with nuclear technology.

AP. You have nuclear technology?
Bl. We will not disclose exactly what we have at this point, but we give thanks to Allah.

AP. Were you almost captured by the US?
BL. Yes indeed. We were surrounded.

AP. How did you escape?
BL. Well, we thought we were gonners for sure, but all of a sudden Bush pulled out all his troops and attacked Iraq. Praise Allah. It was a miracle.

AP. How does it feel to be constantly on the run?
BL. It was bad at first, but now no one is close to us. We are relaxing while listening to our favorite TV station.

AP. What station is that?
BL. Fox News.

AP. Fox News?
BL. Yes of course. We appreciate humor. It is the best we could find. BTW, my time is running short, we will have to cut this interview off soon. I will take two more questions.

AP. Who is your real enemy here and who are your friends?
BL. My enemy is the infidels of the world, the United states, Great Britain, Israel, and non-believers like Sadaam Hussein. My friends are my fellow moslem soldiers, Al Qauda, and President bush.

AP. President Bush is your friend!?
Bl. Of course. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. My enemy is the United States and Hussein. Bush got rid of Hussein for us and Bush is destroying the US and its economy. Praise Allah.

AP. There you have it folks an exclusive interview with Bin Laden.
