<<< Intel is everything in these cases, and will have to be a lot better than it has been. We know the Iranians can play this game as well, and they will feed us false information through sources we trust if they get the chance.>>>

There is absolutely nothing wrong with our Intel. We spend an enormous amount of money collecting as much information as we can handle.

How we interpret the data we collect is something entirely different. That is a problem for psychiatrists.

But with respect to nuclear proliferation - and what to do about it - is not exactly rocket science.

Everyone can agree to want to stop proliferation.

We can unilaterally go into almost any country and knock out their embryonic nuclear infrastructure. We can always make up some rationale to do what we want to do unilaterally and no one is going to stop us.

There are many people amongst us who are always into instant gratification and think unilateral action is the only way to go.

If that does the job, then no one can argue against it.

Chances are however, this will not work. Over the long term, 95% of the world's population will not allow 5% of the world's population to dictate to them how things are done. For our children and grandchildren to manage the resentment that inevitably build up - will be like trying to herd cats. It can't be done.

We will never be able to get the whole world to go along with us, but we have to get at least some semblence of the global community to go along with us.

To do it the way we are, (you are either with us or against us), is going to do damage to our future generations.

Instant gratification is okay for some things, but not this.

Again, the solution to this problem is not rocket science. Everyone can agree as to what the objectives are. All it takes is a bit of leadership to get the job done.

We can shoot and ask questions later and get the job done over the short term. But that is not going to do the job for the longer term.
