Japanese Manufacturers Expect Digital Camera Sales to Reach 61.5 Mln Units in 2004 June 23, 2004 (TOKYO) -- Major Japanese digital still camera manufacturers have released financial results for fiscal year 2003 (ended March 2004) and announced digital camera sales in units for 2003 as well as sales forecasts for 2004 (*1). The total sales figure for the six major Japanese digital camera manufacturers, for their own brand of cameras was 40.45 million units for 2003, an increase of 71% from the previous year. The number of units in their sales forecasts for 2004 totals 61.5 million units, a 52% year-on-year increase. Art, Just finished a Pro Photo Shoot with 1 of the top Photographers in the country and he uses only Canon cameras. He says the EOS 10d is the best Prosumer camera out there for the money. It doesn't do the burst shooting the Nikon does but he says that is secondary. Something else for you to consider and I think the last price I saw on it was under $1400.00. As to the price you mentioned on the 1 gig ultra wow!!! I paid that much for a 32 meg MMC card not that many years ago and the same for a 512 ultra just a few months ago. Soon as the 4 gig cards get cheaper than 2 2 gigs i might start buying them. As it is I can get 66 RAW images on my 512 ultras. Clean
