We did not invade Europe because we did not like Nazis. We did not liberate Germany, we responded to their declaration of war. To speak of the US liberating Germany from the Nazis is simply make believe. Nor did we could we have nor did we colonize Germany - and your assertion of colonizing highly industrialized countries simply has no basis in logic or historical pattern of any colonial power. We hate what Nazis did -- and the comparison of Nazi to Germany is a lame device to evoke similar feelings of hatred and weak comparisons as a pretext for what we are doing in Iraq. If you really want to compare Nazi Germany to the war we launched in Iraq, the unfortunate truth is that we would have to cast ourselves in the role of the Nazis -- the invaders and occupiers of a country that did not attack us and did not pose a threat to us.
