"...if they don't have to, why is it there?"

I already explained it to you, and I think you know. Why do you lie about them having to say it?

"Our country is based on the constitution......no mention of a god in it."

Take a look at the Declaration of Independence. Another important document (imo). Also, if you count the Ammendments to the constitution (which I think are definately related to it, if not part of it). They say (in the very 1st one), "Congress shall make no law respecting an ESTABLISHMENT of religion", which saying the word God DOES NOT DO. It then goes on to say "or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the FREEDOM OF SPEECH".

Nothing in there saying it is illegal to say the word God, in any venue at all. That haters like you want to restrict the freedom of the majority because you hate what they believe and stand for, and what our country was BASED on is inconsequential. The constitution was written to protect haters like you from getting tossed in jail or getting their ass kicked. It was not written to stifle the majority from expressing themselves, even if it offends small minded idiots like you.

"just do it quietly and by yourself..... "

The pledge is not a prayer. Too bad that this particular speech offends you. Too bad for you it is protected under our CONSTITUTION.

Sorry dude. Now quit lying about it. Makes you look like a petty fool.
