the only picture i saw of big Al in vietnam was with the camera and four security guys around him. Big Al arrived there in January and by some miracle his assigned outfit was rotated home in May. Big Al did not volunteer to finish his year 'in country'. John Kerry emulated him soon after. Bugged out on his comrades. The Commanding general of the Seoul district asked a very 'Nam experienced reporter to keep an eye on Big Al. The reporter responded " I'll try to keep him out of trouble, but I'm not throwing my body in front of that guy to save him from a bullet." KM
