I sympathize with you as far as your feelings toward your son but as yet there is no draft and I don't think there will be. I also don't think that Saudi Arabia is "teetering on the edge of revolt". Nor do I think that fallujia is going to be the end of the world either. The Iraqi army and the us forces I presume are going attack the rebels there and I anticipate that they will be wiped out. I believe the saudis are finally beginning to take a hard line with the terrorists in their own country and I believe that when they decide to start dealing with them they will not screw around. If the saudi's stop looking the other way and other moderate nations pitch in the terrorists will have a much smaller base of support and less space in which to hide. Pakistan was a disater long before even 9-11 and how we are to change that I have no idea.

The pessimism and overall gloom and doom that has been posted on Iraq since the first day of the invasion here has been thick enough to cut with a knife. If Iraq was a stock I'd go long it. I disagree with all of the supposition that the Iraq action was some giant conspiracy and I also disagree that it is going to be the debacle that it is made out to be.

I understand the fear that you may be feeling because it's seemingly us against the entire Islamic world. Hopefully we can defeat the extremists and work out some type of accommidation on the palestinian issue that everyone can live with. We can't however believe that we can hide here across the ocean, doing nothing, and pretend it will all go away. I would rather fight them on their on turf than here. We have to fight them either today or tomorrow. It has been simmering for decades and it is finally brought to the front burner. While invading Iraq was far from a perfect action it was at least an action and in the end it will be a net positive.

You can keep railing at me but your not going to change my mind. The same pessimistic , super negative gloom and doom shit has been posted here for an entire year. It's like you people are in a state of panic over a situation that is relatively under control. The new government has been chosen and aside from some random bombings and kidnappings which are low level and almost desparate the transition is proceeding. I'm sorry and I hate to be so disagreeable with everyone but I can only take so much America bashing.
