In 2002, Kerry stated we needed disarm Saddam and that he would support Bush provided Bush live up the following promises he and his people had made to the Senate:

1) Invade only as a last resort because we HAVE to
2) Take time to build a large coalition
3) Work with the UN all the way
4) Prepare for the post-invasion peace

Since Bush did none of the above he broke his promises to the American People and those in congress who voted to give him their permissions.

Kerry finished by saying that if Bush did not live up to his promises he would hold his feet to the fire. As it turns out, not only will be hold his feet to the fire, he will replace him and do a much better job.
