Hi John...I don't think : Personal hatred was how most people thought of Clinton....But his personal lies (didn't inhale, etc), and constant narcissism took their toll...The Paula Jones, Gennifer Flowers, Kathleen Wiley, and then Monica...eventually caused revulsion, and sadness for our entire Country.

I think the Dems are in pretty bad shape when they have to depend on Michael Moore for intellectual leadership. Did you read Brooks' column about his overseas statements? Outrageous, to say the least.

The interesting thing about this point is that's precisely what a large contingency on the right did with Clinton. Personal hatred took the place of serious analysis. At some level, there is much to fear for our politics if this kind of hatred replaces serious disagreement.

This is exactly what's wrong with politics today. Our time is being wasted on this kind of garbage when there are serious problems that need to be thought through, and neither side has anything on the other when it comes to bad faith mudslinging. Scurrilous political campaigns have come and gone, and we're in the midst of another one.
