Depends on what you mean. My experience with blogs is that they are very, very uneven: the worst are much worse than opinion pieces very weak newspapers, the good or never the equivalent of opinion pieces in the best newspapers. What I've found is that they are more timely, at least the one's I read, Josh Marshall, Kos, Billmon, Juan Cole, and offer information I'm unlikely to get from mainline newspapers. It's up to me, as, of course, with the newspapers, to assess the value of the information. Back to the journalistic ethics.
