Kerry NEVER said Saddam had weaponized WMD's and nukes ready to launch upon short notice like the Bushies did, and never said they knew where they were. They merely said that in a general sense Saddam had some kind of WMD's, though how much and weaponized or not they did not know.

CLinton said Iraq was a potential threat, not a top priority threat. He put Iraq as #6 on his list of threats.

CLinton and Kerry also did not order a huge unilateral invasion of Iraq based on this even after UN inspectors had gotten back in and were doing very well, getting full access even to the palaces.

Bush has said he would stake his entire presidency on his Iraq War and everything he told us about why he was doing it. That means he's completely disqualified himself from being re-elected. Don't forget, Bush also promised to work with the UN, build a large coalition and have a post-invasion plan. That's what he promised the senate. He reneged on all of his promises. He lied and got caught.

Clearly these neocons were planning to invade no matter what even before 9-11. WMD's or not. So for them it was just a matter of making up whatever excuse sounded best.

GW also should have asked his father for advice. He would have told him the right way to handle Iraq. He would have told him to listen to John Kerry.
