The campaign this year is going to get unbelievably ugly. The supporters of kerry represent the spirit of kerry. I submit that will not play well with the populace and the election will not even be close.

Now, if somehow kerry were to provide a positive program defined by rational funding plans - and reject publicly the hate mongers like in the creek Teddy and Bagdad Nancy - and the screaming meltdown Algore - it might change.

'Fahrenheit 9/11' tops eight (m) million dollars in first day at theaters

Los Angeles-AP -- "Fahrenheit 9/11," filmmaker Michael Moore's broadside against President Bush, has taken in a reported eight-point-two to eight-point-four (m) million dollars in its first day.

Based on Friday's numbers, "Fahrenheit 9/11" is on track for an opening weekend that would surpass the total gross of Moore's "Bowling for Columbine," his 2002 film that earned him an Academy Award for best documentary.

"Fahrenheit 9/11" benefited from a flurry of praise and condemnation. Supporters mobilized liberal-minded audiences to see it over opening weekend to counter efforts by some right-wing groups to discredit the film.
