Those people beheading innocent captives in Iraq use the same logic that the US has used all along in this war -- that what they do is justified by the glorious ends they seek. I do not accept this of the US and I certainly don't accept it of those doing the beheading. As for the UN, yes there is a slow pulling on the UN to get more involved, but the damage that was done by the unilateral US invasion will not so easily be washed away.
