<<Both of you persist in casting situations in the most incendiary manner - almost desiring to ensure self fulfilling prophacies.>>

He deserves it. That's why I didn't write to you. Sorry you read it.

<<In reality it is to everyones interest if disputes are settled through negotiations - with each side compromising.>>

Not if you have dealt with lawyers. Public relation and public perception are big parts of it. So are politics from DC which is laden with them kinds. Beijing is learning well, so they too can breathe a few hot air.

<<.. hopeful that Chinese ruling class are largely people educated in mathematics and understand the calculus..>>

Plenty of them there, but they can go beyond mathematics and not so naive anymore. Read this one: Message 20257818

And don't forget those politicians also decide what scientific research to get funded.

<<Young people may be able to view things differently. Younger people will be able to view each other and look beyond physical attributes. >>

I hope so, and it appears to be the trend these days. But mostly Europeans, not Americans though.

By the way, China's television news coverage and advertisement media is much more international than US media. It shows where they are going to, and where we are stuck in. Is it any wonder we got bamboozled so easily? Here is the latest salesmanship:

Mary, you crazy bigoted racist American name-calling loony-toon [note spelling] women are all the same!

Not that I've got anything against American women I hasten to add. Heck, some of my best friends are women and even American. How enlightened, tolerant and broad-minded is that?!!

I consider both Chinese and Americans [including women] should be treated as human and have full human rights as per King George II's rulz. He is very strong on human rights and human rights are anything he says they are. I'm waiting to see him lecture China on human rights - the laughter should be loud.

PS: <In reality it is to everyones interest if disputes are settled through negotiations - with each side compromising. > Such a cliche sounds good, but when people like Saddam are on the other side of the negotiating table, compromise isn't an option [he would simply shoot anyone who tried negotiating with him, or even looked as though they might]. Try being a Jew in one of the Nazi concentration camps and see how well negotiating a compromise works. Sometimes you just have to kill people to survive.
