We’re told that war is rare or that it’s amoral.

Virtually all world religions glorify peace in theory, even if it is not the most common viewpoint among its followers.

Go back to the ancient Greeks. They accepted war as a tragic fact of life.

They also liked to do it with little boys. Was that also a "tragic fact of life?"

In other words, the use massive force in a moral cause is in fact humane

Has there ever been a leader who used massive force for what he considered an immoral cause? What exactly is a "moral cause?" Does might make right?

Again, why do we find this so disturbing?

Exodus 20:13
You shall not murder.

The combination of values in Western culture...

He's a war monger. Has that come to define "Western Values?"

Personally, I'd prefer to gear up and win the global war once and for all, which demands either a radical change of heart in Syria and Iran, or at least a Libya-like conversion, or the removal of those governments.

Why are we waiting? Let's get busy "removing governments."

Yee haw! Let's slay'em like Sherman! Murder is righteous! War is Peace! Yee haw!
