Cheney may see the writing on the wall. Landslide defeat, heart palpitations, indictments, history treating him like a villain, the death of the neocon movement.

Well, unlike you, there are those of us who would like to support their local community and local merchants, even if it costs a little more, rather than a corporate cancer like Wal Mart.

Mark,

Don't be so simplistic.

I, for one, do support the local merchants.

Today, when working on my sprinkler system, I went to the local plumbing store instead of Home Depot for my supplies.

I buy my coffee from a local roaster.

I support the new independent toy store down on Main St.

But, occasionally, I do shop at Wal-Mart. If I need to buy a cooler, they have it at a good price. I could spend my time running around to 3-4 local stores looking for what I want, but I know with reasonable certainty I'll find it at Wal Mart.

Like many things, it's not something that lends itself to a simplistic, formulaic solution, such as

Local Good - Wal Mart bad

or...

Kerry good - Bush bad.
