Saddam was surrounded, in a box and by Condi Rice's own words in 2001, unable to harm us. Powell also said in 2001 that Saddam could not command any major military actions against anyone anymore. We had already defanged him. That and other such Bushie quotes are shows in Moore's film. So you should see it and learn something. Saddam was suspected to have nasty wapons, but no one knew for sure. We justa ssumed. Under pressure, he finally let UN inspectors have full access and they were doing a great job. They find a few old illegal missiles but nothing else. There was no hurry to invade. Saddam was crumbling. Saddam could have been deposed in a manner of ways. The same way we took out Milosovic for instance, which did not cost a single US casualty.
