A lot depends on the brand of the small car. Big difference between a korean small car and a european one.

A good set of brakes will keep you out of a lot of accidents.

We have so many huge trucks on the road here, I think defensive driving is the ticket, rather than owning a gas guzzler. And remember, lots of those SUVs roll. Not a good thing. I've been driving since 1976 and never had an accident (knock on wood). I feel plenty safe driving my ULEV- but I've seen several SUV's roll over- and I wonder if those drivers aren't a might complacent? It helps to remember every minute you drive that driving is deadly, and the worst road obstacle is a bad driver in another car.
