Yes, but it's not really two days early - it's a year late. We are told that Iraqis are now "ready" for partial sovereignty, but in truth the prolonged occupation just made things worse.

You really have no idea what the heck you're talking about...

Hell, it took 7 years before the former Nazi Germany had its first democratic elections.

This is actually too early to be turning over soveriegnty in Iraq. But there are too many factions within the country willing to attempt a violent overthrow of ANY regime that seeks to gain power over the the others segments of society and launch into civil war.

It will take years before these various factions have gained sufficient trust (or at least grudging tolerance) of each other.

In the meantime, the interim government (IIG) is probably going to be dependent upon coalition military support for some time to come.

But we'll all have to see what happens in coming days.
