A spokesman for Corporal Wassef Ali Hassoun's family in the state of Utah says, in his words, they "accept destiny with its good and its bad." Corporal Hassoun is a Muslim of Lebanese descent. On Sunday, the family confirmed that Corporal Hassoun was the man shown in a videotape broadcast on Arabic satellite television showing a blindfolded man in military fatigues and a Marine identification card. Iraqi militants in the tape threatened to behead the soldier unless Iraqi prisoners are set free.
