Well, apparently our government did consider just that possibility of airliners being used to attack buildings. There were FBI/military briefings discussing just that possibility well before 9/11, plus the thrawted attack in France, plus the intelligence that OBL had intentions to do so. My main problem is with what happened after then attacks were underay. We were prepared to defend S. Korea from N. Korea and Kuwait from Iraq, but appartently not prepared to defend our nation's capitol. They had over an hour to get jets in the air over DC before the Pentagon was hit. It was an astounding failure of our military, and should make us rethink why we have our resources all over the world and aren't able to defend our own soil.
