Ted, I hardly think it was a popular move.

It was at the time, or so it seemed. Veterans were scorned, and anti-war was hip.

Furthermore, he was being tracked by the likes of R. Nixon........how much fun do you think that was?

I'm not sure if Kerry knew or even cared at the time. At least now, he can use that as a badge of honor ... much like Michael Moore is acting like a target of the "right-wing media," or Rush acting like a target of the left.
