"His folks were looking into it . . . " you say. His job was to direct that looking; he was the president; the military leader; the whole ball of wax. He said he was a leader; missed that opportunity.

Good heavens, Mike. Political campaigning in our time is a lot worse than this stuff. All Moore does at this point, really, is to let the clock tick. Seven minutes are a very long time.

If Kerry were running an effective negative campaign, and he should, this is the sort of thing that should be front and center, pasted alongside some text from Clarke's book as to what was happening in the White House at that very moment. Ouch!!
