In other words, we use force to bring about political change and to project power. And if some innocent civilians have to be killed along the way, that is a regrettable but fully understandable and justifiable event. Is this not the case?

Your conclusion seems somewhat plausible Sun, but, and a very important but: you seemed to have left out the dozen or more years leading up to this country projecting force.

I would say that we gave the diplomatic route a good deal of effort, huh?

Had that been the goal, there were less costly means of toppling the regime.

Oh really ? Like what ?

That regime was there to stay, just like North Korea, Castro's Cuba, etc. I don't think it was a great idea to topple the regime given the risks, priorities, and costs as it was, but this nonsense about all the other ways of doing such things doesn't wash.

As for your belief that we're the same as head hacking Islamists or mass murderers like OBL, well you're entitled to your opinion, and I'm not going to waste my breath on it.
