Alright already, the bin ladens skipped the country after the grounding of aircraft of was lifted. Nonetheless, you would think when one member of a family is implicated in the murder of thousands of innocent citizens you might want to issue a subpoena or two to get evidence into the record. It seems only to make sense to republicans that 25 bin ladens would get to leave the country without giving testimony to a grand jury or somewhere.

Imagine, as Moore says, the FBI not interviewing Timothy McViegh's family after the Oklahoma City bombing. Christ, you can wear a turban onto an airline and find your self in a holding cell for ... how long nowadays. And that's just for wearing a turban. But if you are the cousin of the biggest mass murderer in the country's history, you'd figure the cops or FBI or CIA would want to talk with you. Republicans seem to think not... very strange.

This is untrue.

No, it's true. The Bin Ladens were flying all over the country while the flight ban was still in effect: In the two days immediately following the September 11 terrorist attacks on America, the U.S. government allowed bin Laden family members to fly within the country during a general ban on air travel.

It will never be determined who was on the flight that was allowed to leave the US on 9-13 while the flight ban was stil in effect but one can surmise without stretching that the Bin Ladens were on that flight: records obtained from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) seem to indicate that one flight carrying approximately 46 Saudi citizens may have left the U.S. from New York as early as September 13, before the general ban on air travel was lifted.
