re: And handed the people a functioning government -- although one that will require support for a while.

You are a freaking joke. "Handed", "functioning", where do you get the talking points?

re: More violence is likely, but it will decline over time.

That's been your line from day 1... it's not happening.

re: The loss of a thousand Americans is a tough pill to swallow, but the Left was predicting much worse numbers beforehand (as usual) and were way, way off, also as usual.

The left predicted much less loss of life, you SOB. I'm shocked every day.

For the record, and you can probably find a prediction from this thread from 18 months or so ago, I predicted we'd lose about 1,000 lives in this -- I predicted that within a couple of years there would be a vast civil war in Iraq, after we were to pull out.

We'll see if that happens; we haven't pulled up yet.

Things are far from stable, and we may see martial law imposed. I'm hoping for the best, but not expecting quite that.

>>>>>>If we lose fewer than a couple hundred more soldiers, and Iraq is a flowing democracy in five years

It has been interesting to me to watch media coverage of today's events. Amazing that they can criticize what occurred. We have freed a sizable country, eliminated a threat to the rest of the world, and installed the makings of a democracy -- in a little over a year. And handed the people a functioning government -- although one that will require support for a while.

Would you just stop with your spin and BS. Just because you think we're stupid does not mean that we are.
