Before COLUMBINE, Michael Moore had no commercial hits of any kind. He is from a lower middleclass Joe Sixpack background in Flint Michigan. Only now is he getting rich. However, I very much doubt money has ever been the driving force in his life. He is the classic populist muck-raker. It comes from his anger as a kid seeing GM shut down the plants in FLint which destroyed that community. of course the jobs were shipped overseas. So why shouldn't he fight back? I'd called that very American and patriotic.
