lorne, with the handing over of Iraq to the Iraqis, Bush has acknowledged that his foreign policy has been a total failure. He did not hand over Iraq. The Iraqis forced it out of him.

That the Iraqis forced it out of him has proof in event s such as the rise of Sadr, the Shiite cleric, the popularity of Zarqawi etc. etc. These folks nobody heard of and their popularity was non-existent when the US military marched into Baghdad. All of Iraq along with the US had one common enemy: Saddam. And than expect Bush to botch it up, just like he did 9/11.

Right after 9/11, there was worldwide sympathy for the US. The US got the support of all countries to pursue Al Qaeda. But then only a "son of a Bush" can screw things up by turning towards Iraq at which point the US started to loose the nations of the world. Now apply that to Iraq. The Iraqis supported the US initially. But then only "the son of a Bush" could screw things up there by giving exclusive rebuilding contracts to Halliburton and all those in favor of Cheney saying "Fuck You".

So let us first determine if Bush is worthy of our vote. Then we will think about Kerry. Right now, it seems that not only Kerry opposed Bush on issues in the past but that most Americans have started to oppose Bush's policies saying that the war in Iraq was a mistake.
