That makes two new revenue streams from conversions. DOCO- FOMA to release 99 by year end Unicom GSM users to CDMA users starting July!

Engineer, Re: GSM1x / Unicom and “This is perhaps the biggest news in months out of china.’ Yes, It certainly appeared to be a long time in its coming. According the statements from the Unicom execs, GSM1x will be their primary focus. This could also represent a very positive surprise to the ‘analyst” community as I don’t believe they have any of this (GSM upgrades to GSM1x handsets = added CDMA handset sales with 100% Q chipset share) built into their numbers. TT, when questioned in his recent presentations about the apparent “sluggishness” in China, wasn’t concerned and was confident that the 2H04 we would see a rebound in China. Let’s see- 1. WCDMA ramping 2. EV-DO ramping with 100% chipset share 3. GSM1x ramping with 100% chipset share 4.
