Thanks for your post. It certtainly brings up many important issues, and is written in a thought provoking way...

I wish I was certain on how to properly handle this. I do know that the policing approach is wrong. This is much more than a crime...Kerry is very wrong.

To be sure you understand that this is not politically flavored, I will tell you that since Franklin D. Roosevelt, who led us through pre and WWII (1933 - 1945) up to and including our present President, I have without exception, supported our presidents on all matters of international conflict.

Translation: he supports America uncritically in any war that is presented to him. Thus, he is radically biased.

=======================================================

When did the threat to us start? Many will say September 11th, 2001. The answer as far as the United States is concerned is 1979, 22 years prior to September 2001, with the following attacks on us: Iran Embassy Hostages, 1979 ... yada-yada-yada ... Pentagon 2001.

Who were the attackers? In each case, Muslims carried out the attacks on the US.

Wow, 100% of attacks committed by Muslims were committed by Muslims! You'd have to be RAZOR SHARP to know that. -g-

=======================================================

Now here is where we get to the grand lie:

We cannot fault either the Republicans or Democrats as there were no provocations by any of the presidents or their immediate predecessors, Presidents Ford or Carter.

ROFLMAO! Just to pick the first example, Iran, we overthrew their government in 1953, and then helped maintain a brutal dictator (Amnesty International cited him as the worst human rights violator in the world) for 3 decades.

=======================================================

One final note: the combined death toll in all of those attacks is minuscule. It's hardly a blip on the radar screen.

Why were we attacked? Envy of our position, our success, and our freedoms.

False.

<<< ... President Eisenhower, in an internal discussion, observed to his staff, and I'm quoting now, "There's a campaign of hatred against us in the Middle East, not by governments, but by the people." The national security council discussed that question and said, "yes, and the reason is, there's a perception in that region that the United States supports status quo governments, which prevent democracy and development and that we do it because of our interests in Middle East oil.

Furthermore, it's difficult to counter that perception because it's correct. It ought to be correct. We ought to be supporting brutal and corrupt governments which prevent democracy and development because we want to control Middle East oil, and it's true that leads to a campaign of hatred against us." >>>
