You might wish to also read James Fallows' article in the current The Atlantic Magazine dealing with Bush's and Kerry's debating styles. Lakoff is mentioned prominently. C2, if you are recommending that piece, I wish to join you in doing so. Very interesting piece. It's still not clear to me what Fallows offered as an explanation for the shift from a Bush politically savvy, almost wonky debating syle in his first gubernatorial campaign to his present one of simply staying on message.
