It is better to play a fool for a while than be one all the time. There are either a great many excellent actors providing many convincing portrayals, or, alas, your estimate is woefully on-target. If they are acting, then they can stop now and get their Oscars. Let's get them to play the role of Patriot and Defender of the Constitution. If they can play that equally well, then all will be hunky-dory.
