My husband entered the military to get his college education paid for. His parents were divorcing, and there wasn't any money for Mr. X to go to college. It's a hard bet to make, to potentially lose your life so you can get an education, and I wouldn't want my children to have to make that gamble. If people want to serve, fine- but we shouldn't hold education as a hostage to doing that. It's just wrong to do that (and I feel that most strongly. You should not have to wager your life, in order to go to college, just because you are poor.)

Did you come away from the movie with the distinct impression that most of the war casualties were minorities?
