Sigh...here you go again...firstly you have not shown there was any credible evidence that Saddam intended to help AQ or invade US interests...secondly long track record of what? There is no evidence that Saddam had a track record with 9/11 or AQ...thirdly what billions of dollars are you refering to? Iraqis were practically starving and the oil revenue we defined how much the oil revenue could be...fourthly all the intentions and ill-wishes in the world a WMD do not make. It is capablities that matter more than intentions. And finally, in the hypothetical situation that someone was willing to sell WMDs or precursors of to Saddam, I bet a few well aimed missiles would get them and other would be sellers to rethink their position...and that would have cost a hell of a lot less than this war.

[edit remember this whole thing was justified under the pretext of 9/11 and emminent threat that required preemptive action]
