>>But what I find different this time is that although the majority of Americans have doubts or are outright opposed to the continuing occupation (opression) of Iraq, where are the huge demonstrations like they had against the war in Vietnam? <<

From what I observed, people who have doubts or opposed the occupation of Iraq are, by NO means, a majority in the US. And that explains why you do not see huge demonstration.

I saw Fahrenheit 9/11 too, pretty informative. And I have to give Michael Moore the full credit for having guts to make the movie. And he raised some interesting question: why there was not even one senator who was willing to endorse the re-count of the FL votes in last Pres. Election?

I haven't seen 9/11, but will. I was told by someone on SI that the demonstrations against the war in Vietnam didn't start until after a lot young soldiers died in Vietnam.
