What it shows is that Bushies are desperate.

It shows that the right is chiefly responsible for the horrible tone and division in the nation today. So it doesn't show that they are desperate at all. It shows that enough people will subscribe to uglyness...so in a sense it unfortunately works.

Exactly.

They only slander now because they have no arguments to debate anymore. They have already lost the national debate.

Really? Tell that to the 6 million people who tune in everyday.

Exactly.

The right is out of ideas, just left with a bunch of slander and diversionary propaganda tactics.

That is why you won't hear any talk from them about actual policies of John Kerry except when they lie like saying "he'll raise your taxes" or "He'll hand the US military over to the UN". Not a single Bush TV ad about Kerry is even remotely true.

Rather they resort to avoiding Kerry and attacking Ted Kennedy, as if the two are the same. Or Bill Clinton for imagined crimes (remember they accused him of murder). "The white OJ Simpson" Anne Coulter calls the most successful president of our time. Then they'll attack Michael Moore as fat or unpatriotic, without bothering to prove if indeed anything in his film isn't true. They don't even want to go there. No facts, please. And none of them have actually watched Moore's film. If they did they mighyt cease to be Bushies. gg

And what else? They keep calling Iraq "The War On Terror" which it has become only thanks to their ineptitude, but wasn't originally. Amazing. We have a fight on our hands. But from the right it's going to be a mud-slinging contest following the rules of a Soviet type state. That is, deceive, slander, cover up, scapegoat and if possible cheat on the elections.

Al,

It shows that the right is chiefly responsible for the horrible tone and division in the nation today.

It is very much a 2 way street, and these days, it is the loony left that is the chief contributor.

In Clinton years, the right probably was more responsible for the negative tone, but these days, it is the left.

If I could speculate, I think it has to do with the fact that left has lost all the political power it used to wield for decades. They are just standing on the side lines yelling obscenities.
