Oh please. Of course he was told to stay put. Secret Service could have done that on their own or perhaps it was Al Haig redux. It was chaos--it was a massive security failure that both clinton and bush are responsible for. What do you want, a cowboy for president? Perhaps he should have commandeered an SUV and drove to NY or better yet a horse. And remember he stood in the rubble with me (and you)two days later.
