What I know about is the flights the bin Ladens were on out of Boston. It was covered extensively by the local news media here, and at the time I thought it was a mistake not to detain them. I posted about it on SI. The bin Ladens, who denounced the attacks and Osama, were interviewed and cleared by the FBI. Most of them were students at Harvard and BU. They left because they feared the outrage of the public. And they flew on their own jets well after the skies were re-opened.
