The Saudis will always keep the price of oil just below anything else. It is the price we pay as a nation for oil at any price is what concerns me.

We'll see expensive gas in coming years. Demand for gas is going to outstrip production sooner or later, probably in the next 5 to 10 years, and then the price will start a slow but steady increase towards $3.00/gal and beyond. At the same time, alternatives will become cheaper. At some point the two are going to cross paths and equal in price. Of course, the oil cabalists who run this country aren't going to promote alternatives to their money making machine.

That's a silly distortion of supply and demand, not to mention a complete economy killer. We'd be living in the stone ages. Why not just ban gasoline altogether?

Btw, how are you going to eliminate the need for people to heat their homes in the winter? How will electricity be generated?
