The problem I have with this whole issue and how it was dealt with. I felt it dealt with the issue is something of a cynical fashion. The numbers we have now are similar to the numbers we have at times of peace. The military is an attractive alternative to kids from poor backgrounds and many make the decision to join. They often get educated and started on a career path that can lead up and out of poverty, white, black, latino. No one makes a racial or class issue about it then.

Moore did not set out to make impressions. You know someone can take 2 facts and blend them in a way that creates a false impression and still contend, rightfully so, that his FACTS are correct. He created the impression that there is something sinister about the racial composition of our military.

I'll tell you one impression he did leave me with though. I walked in after having paid thinking, if I was'nt happy with the flick I would ask for my money back. But the point he raised is in my mind so important I did'nt even think about asking for a refund, and that is how it is the duty of the citizenry to hold accountable the CIC over his decision to march our kids off to war.

To me THAT transends partisan politics like few issues I can think of. To be reminded of that was worth the price of admission.
