Ted, Look at MOSSAD, they pick up where the leaders of Hamas are and then the Israeli military deploys helicopters to selectively take them out. Do you think American intel can do that $h*t? Not in a million years. That's because if we took steps to make America more like Israel, too many people here would complain about "Big Brother" and the police state. Which is exactly my point. Aw come on......you're making it up as you go along. The CIA and the FBI have acted like big brother for years now. Now the Patriot Act gives them even more power......all they need and more. Besides, most of their work would be in the field......read ME, Asia and Europe. They could well have stopped the explosions from happening. In fact, Spanish intel [which is better than ours] was very close to cracking the case; however, they hesitated when they should have moved. I have not seen anything that would make me believe that. The only thing I see is a lot of second-guessing based on hindsight, which I see a lot of these days. How quickly you forget.....PM Aznar lost his job over the issue. He argued with Spanish intel, stating that it was ETA, Basque terrorists, rather than al Qa'ida that did the job. Spanish intel stood its ground and argued otherwise....laying out its case. This is not new news.....do a google. You're confused because the American right shortly thereafter went on a crusade saying that it was al Qa'ida that caused the Spaniards to freak and kick Aznar out. In reality, Aznar lied becaused it fit his political agenda and got his butt in a sling when the truth won out. Are you starting to see a theme here? The right lies and they lose their jobs. ted
