Dont be fooled. Leftys(not all libs and dems) are scared to death but they adopt a head in the sand approach and if push comes to shove an attempt at appeasement. My cousin got his girlfriend pregnant when she was 15. They didnt know what to do so they broke up thinking the pregnancy would miraculously disappear. She got fat and the cat was out of the bag. Moral of the story is dont break contact with al quada, they will just come back at you stronger later on. Mike

A "PI" analysis for you, MM. Liberal Media blog.

Seattle newspapers biased in favor of Murray over Nethercutt

Today's Seattle Times reports on Hillary Clinton's fundraising appearance on behalf of Sen. Patty Murray, trying to defend her seat from challenger Rep. George Nethercutt. "Clinton brings star power"

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton brought her fund-raising prowess and star power to Seattle yesterday on behalf of Sen. Patty Murray, whom Clinton portrayed as a "real threat" to the Bush administration.
The headline and this photograph took up half of the front page of today's local news section. [photo caption: "Democratic Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, left, listens as Sen. Patty Murray talks about homeland security and port issues yesterday at Terminal 18 at the Port of Seattle"].

By way of comparison, Murray still gets the headline in this report of last month's visit of Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist on behalf of George Nethercutt: "Senate majority leader campaigning to unseat Murray"

U.S. Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist made campaign stops in Washington state yesterday, trying to drum up money and attention for U.S. Rep. George Nethercutt, the man Republican leaders hope can knock off incumbent Sen. Patty Murray.
The spin is that Murray's rightful position is being threatened by "Republican leaders", as opposed to, say, state voters who believe Nethercutt can do a better job of representing them in Washington, DC than can the sitting Senator.

Today's Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports that "Clinton, Murray team up"

Sens. Hillary Clinton and Patty Murray joined forces in Seattle yesterday to promote port security and raise money for Murray's re-election campaign.
The P-I allows Murray to tie herself to the issue of port security and doesn't challenge or seek a rebuttal to Murray's claim that
the Bush administration is funding port security at only 12 percent of what is needed.
George Nethercutt isn't mentioned until the 21st paragraph.http://www.thatliberalmedia.com/archives/002240.html

They are for more fearful (scared) of terrorism/terrorists than dems/liberals seem to be and rightfully believe that this is a life threatening situation, and I don't know why dems/libs don't seem to feel the same way? (at least not that I can tell from what I've read so far) I am coming to the conclusion that it's the Bush hatred that drives them.

I can relate to that.

I am neither a Dem nor a lib but I can tell you that I'm not scared so I relate to those who likewise are not scared. I have posted about this before. I'm not scared because I see no indication that they, as motived and as evil as they are, have the wherewithal to do us much damage. I am very confident that our way of life will prevail. I save my fear for things that have a high probability of doing harm, like cancer.

Like you, I'm mystified by those who react otherwise. I keep looking for explanations but nothing makes sense. The best conclusion I can come up with is that they're just scaredy-cats.

So we have Bush-haters and scaredy-cats. Talk about a chasm in mutual understanding. <g>

it had been a consolidated effort on the part of all the rats in the world to kill anything without whiskers and a nude tail.

That makes me want to throw away my razor.

Our liberal attorney son-in-law and the family were in DC today for the next few days....DC is evidently very very buttoned down security wise, and he was upset...Couldn't see all parts of the monuments, nor the Capitol, nor the WH.... I mentioned to him that as he knew the 4th was coming, there are major events planned for the Holiday there, there are terrorists threats to consider, and as hard as it was, we all had a choice.

We could all continue hiding our head in the sand, and pretend nothing was going on around us. Or we could grow up, and consider we're all doing the best we can in a difficult situation.

I did remind him that from my experience in DC, with heavy security type events happening (Columbine, Oklahoma City bombing, NATO 50th Anniversary, and WTO all happened while I was there various years)...that DC was probably the very safest place to be right now, other than the middle of Montana.

He groused, but admitted I was probably right.
