It's important to remember that these are huge, long-long-LONG term forces, the tides underneath even the four-year cycles. They won't necessarily have an impact next week, next month, or even next year. They DO say where the lows of the next four-year cycle should fall, but that could still be a long ways off.

However (and many will disagree on this thread), I believe true long-term investing success comes from a solid understanding of the tidal forces at work underneath the shorter term flows. It says that the next investing great, like Peter Lynch or Warren Buffet, will come not from purchasing stocks, but from commodities, or shorting financial assets. We've learned shorting here, but I still feel like an utter novice in the world of commodities.
