Remember, there were 100s and 100s of bombing in Spain, all by ETA, for decades. When a bomb explodes, everyone assumes it is ETA. Anzar made the same assumption (which turned out to be wrong).

That's borderline bull. Anzar wanted it to be ETA because he took Spain to war against his people's wishes and he knew if it was al Qa'ida, the Spaniards would be p*ssed. In fact, it looked very much like al Qa'ida's handiwork except for the fact that some of the bomb materials duplicated the ones used by ETA. However, the way the bombs were laid out, they way they were activated using cell phones and the fact it took so many lives was not typical of ETA's work.

Furthermore, ETA had been emasculated two years earlier and had not been a problem for at least a year. Anzar knew it but because of the impending election, blamed them anyway in the hopes he could win.....and got caught in his duplicity.

There is a lot of left wing hot air generated about this. The left does not want to be stuck with the shameful way their fellow leftists won - with help of terrorsits, because they are a preferred government of terrorists. A lot of effort is being expanded into covering this up.

This is right wing spin.......there is no indication that the left in Spain are anything but happy with the election and their withdrawal from Iraq. Their troops are the lucky ones........unlike ours....who are stuck to the bitter end.

And when you ask why I am angry.....that's why. Because of one man's hubris, mendacity and incompetence, many people will lose their lives or be maimed for life. And I am sick about it.......completely, and will do everything I can legally to get Mr. Bush out of office. And after that, hopefully, I will never have to hear the name Bush again.

Joe, The left does not want to be stuck with the shameful way their fellow leftists won - with help of terrorsits, because they are a preferred government of terrorists.

I'm sure the view in Spain is similar to that of Korea; that it's not their war, that they'd rather stay on the sidelines. That plus their desire to make America the scapegoat of the world's problems gave the terrorists the victory they wanted.

It won't work here, though, since most Americans feel this IS our war.
