welcome to the new world order, where Zimbabwe may look good in comparison, and China could look inviting relatively

Hello Taikun,
The 'leftist' government won't last... It's a minority government... The people will get fed up soon and either elect the Liberals (which are NOT leftist, just ask Malcolm :o) or finally elect the Conservatives which are leftists compared to the Republicans LOL...

As to the separatist crap... it's just that.. The Bloc fellow (Duceppe) is a federal party leader... The provincial party leader (Landry) can call the referendum and he's not even in power... He's have to run on the platform of holding a referendum, win the election and then the referendum... ain't gonna happen... Their time is past... It may come again but not in my lifetime nor that of the current players except for that whipper snapper Mario Dumont.. The Bloc made inroads because Quebecers could send a message to the federal Liberals and risk nothing at all. This is also the reason for the last minute fall off in Conservative support in Ontario. It wasn't required.... The Bloc strength did the job... Pundits Smundits....

Regards
Kastel

EDIT Besides last cout had the NDP @ 19 votes... not even enough to pass a bill .. They need one more seat... the Bloc ? Now that's a consensus...
