"leads me to believe that Cheney was indeed in charge" Certainly possible. A damn good guy to have in charge imo. "I don't see what the big deal is." It isn't. Bush is good at picking out good people. He is not, and has made no claims that he is an expert at everything. Much less Presidential security detail when at an engagement.
