My feelings right now are the SF community is getting tired. I hate to say that...I really hate to say it...But I am.

I am sorry to hear that, UW. But I am not surprised. First off, SF has been successful beyond anybody's dreams. The combination of these troops with our pinpoint aerial accuracy gives them an almost superhuman ability to wage war. Nobody in the world can stand up against them. But this success has been their downfall. The DOD is leaning on them too hard. Since it takes at least five years to produce good SF troops, they just can't keep up with the demand.

Next, the last year did not go as well as the invasion. Mistakes were made way above their paygrades. This is tough to take.

But most importantly, the 30% of the population that does not want us to fight the terrorists contain about 80% of the media. It is impossible to keep up morale when your papers and TV are telling you that you are doing a lousy job. The media's negativity today is way beyond anything that went on during Vietnam.

So it is a "downtime" for SF. And for all of us. Hopefully, we can pull though. We must.

Thanks for that sobering assessment.

Any ideas on what can be done?
