I saw an article on blue roses not long ago, but the discovery of an enzyme causing the blue color had been made at Vanderbilt accidentally during liver research. I am not scientist enough (or at all) to know if these are totally different processes, but it's interesting to see the results be announced simultaneously like this. The two scientists at Vandy have patented their process. Maybe the Japanese have rushed to get to market faster than planned because of it.
Market competition- ain't it great. Maybe the price will drop more quickly now!
